Amy Stoehr

Amy grew up in a very close military family with awesome parents and an older brother who lived in many places in the U.S. and around the world. The daughter of an Air Force pilot, she loved the people and diverse cultures she experienced in Europe, the Middle East, Far East and America. Amy grew up attending church on Sundays and always had a deep love for God, but first heard about having a personal relationship with Him when a dear friend in college shared with her. While sitting alone on the floor of her bedroom at the sorority house she asked Jesus Christ to be the Lord of her life forever.

Amy graduated from the University of Arizona then earned her degree in Physical Therapy in Dallas, where she also worked as a Physical Therapist. She soon married Matthew Stoehr, and as they continued to love and serve God at their local church, they soon realized they were called to love God’s people as pastors. In 1987, Matt and Amy, with the support and prayers of their family, friends and local church drove to Vista CA on a Wednesday in August and had the first church service on Sunday at The River Family Church.

Amy’s first ministry is being a wife, a mother to their children, and working closely with Matthew in ministering to people, sharing the Gospel wherever she goes. She is passionate about God’s Word, committed to prayer and is dedicated to loving people.
